19:37:31  <devsnek>littledan: are the wasm esm semantics far enough along that it's wise/safe for node to have a `--experimental-wasm-modules`
19:37:55  <devsnek>someone wants to land this and I'm not sure that it's s good idea to do so before TLA happens
21:07:17  <littledan>I think the Wasm/ESM semantics are stable. We have discussed them several times in the Wasm CG meeting, and they are at a state just awaiting implementations
21:08:33  <littledan>A non-TLA implementation would be fine, just putting the compilation work on the main thread. Technically a spec violation, but I don't think most applications will notice. It's the kind of thing very likely to be ecosystem-compatible to upgrade later
21:08:46  <littledan>I haven't reviewed the implementation yet; it's on my to-do list
21:29:58  <devsnek>littledan: when does the start function run
21:30:24  <littledan>During the evaluate phase
21:30:39  <devsnek>i assumed as much
21:30:43  <littledan>as if it were JS code at the top level of your module
21:30:52  <devsnek>that means we can't really implement this with the js wasm api
