21:47:10  <nprobst>Hello everyone. New here… I'm considering using SS to build a real-time scoreboard web app for my archery club. Listening to Owen say 0.3 is not ready for internet rpoduction
21:47:44  <nprobst>makes me pause…can anyone give me some perspective on the readiness of 0.3 for a small-scale app?
21:47:54  <nprobst>thanks in advnace

21:53:56  <nprobst>Also, what's the ETA on 0.4? Is the socketstream-0.4 repo at a usable point?

22:31:46  <paulbjensen>hi nprobst
22:34:47  <paulbjensen>I saw your query, from the experience I've had building Dashku on 0.3, I would say 0.3 is usable at a production level.
22:36:11  <paulbjensen>I think one of the drawbacks to SocketStream is that it has experienced something of a chicken-egg problem.
22:36:52  <paulbjensen>people will use it in production, but only when they have evidence that it is production ready.
22:38:04  <paulbjensen>in my case, I was going to put it into production use, and fix any issues that cropped up along the way.
22:40:15  <paulbjensen>the experience wasn't pain-free, but it helped me find gaps to fill, and from that, we've been able to produce libraries like ss-cucumber, for integration-testing Dashku with cucumber.js
22:41:29  <nprobst>ah, thanks. Like I said, this is for a club, so it's non-commercial (to start with)
22:42:04  <paulbjensen>if you have questions regarding implementing authentication, MVC, providing a REST API, then I can elaborate on some of the code in Dashku, available at https://github.com/anephenix/dashku
22:42:49  <nprobst>I'll take a look at Dashku…thanks! Always good to read working code...
22:43:58  <paulbjensen>you're welcome.
22:44:22  <nprobst>And this is the stack I was intending to use: Node, Mongo, Redis, CoffeeScript, Jade, and Stylus
22:44:25  <nprobst>Sweet
22:48:46  <paulbjensen>:) - I'm a big fan of anything that let's you type less keys
