16:04:49  <maclover7>addaleax: so I have h2load (the git repo itself) installed on the benchmark machine
16:04:54  <maclover7>but I can't seem to get it to compile
16:05:19  <maclover7>If you have any scripts you want me to run to have it work, happy to do that, I haven't seemed to have much luck
16:07:58  <addaleax>maclover7: hmm... you mean https://github.com/nghttp2/nghttp2, right?
16:08:08  <addaleax>can you show sth about the compile error?
16:08:26  <addaleax>also, what OS is that machine on? there might be some kind of precompiled package, right...?
16:31:16  * BridgeAR1joined
16:32:20  <maclover7>addaleax: Yeah, I had looked for a precompiled package but couldn't seem to find one
16:32:29  <maclover7>The machine is running ubuntu 14.04
16:32:39  <maclover7>yeah, that's the repo, nghttp2/nghttp2
16:34:39  <addaleax>maclover7: ubuntu 14.04 ... that's old :( so i guess we have to compile from source, yea.. i think when i did it on my local machine, something like ./configure && make -j4 was enough?
16:35:44  <addaleax>https://github.com/nghttp2/nghttp2#building-from-git i guess you tried that?
16:37:57  <maclover7>Yeah, last time I ran this was already a week or two ago, trying to refresh my memory
16:38:08  <maclover7>Hmm, now it seems like the issue is just dependencies not being there... let me try and fix that
16:49:14  <maclover7>addaleax: got it to compile, just adding it to PATH, and then I think should be all set
16:49:28  <addaleax>maclover7: great =) thank you a lot!
17:01:44  <maclover7>Just getting this rolled up into ansible, and then will PR into nodejs/build
17:03:20  <addaleax>maclover7: ah, you mean, for the scripts?
17:03:37  <maclover7>Yep
17:03:44  <maclover7>like how to unpack and get h2load compiled and stuff
17:11:54  <maclover7>addaleax: ok, if you want to try another http2 benchmark job it should work now, in theory
17:12:01  <maclover7>h2load is on the PATH
17:13:04  <maclover7>rvagg: is the --without--intl dockerfile stored in nodejs/build? Or maybe the update should be in nodejs-private/secrets?

17:13:50  <addaleax>maclover7: ok, i’ll try once i’ve pushed my latest changes + confirmed that they work … compiling is taking forever after a V8 cherry-pick :(

19:56:26  <addaleax>maclover7: i’m going to rebuild your last run now, should be fixed
20:04:18  <addaleax>failing with “Error: Requested benchmarker 'h2load' is not installed” … not sure whether that’s expected or not, but might be what you wanted to figure out with your last run

20:16:31  <maclover7>addaleax: hmm, that should have passed... when I run the checker script (https://github.com/nodejs/node/blob/master/benchmark/_http-benchmarkers.js#L122-L123) manually, it works for me
20:16:44  <maclover7>let me try and run the whole benchmark script in its entirety manually
20:19:50  * chorrelljoined
20:26:30  <addaleax>maclover7: just so you know, currently it clones without --depth, which ... takes a while
20:26:57  <addaleax>i think my pr to the benchmark repo fixes/fixed that, but ..... so many things to keep track off :D
20:27:32  <maclover7>addaleax: so running `bash run.sh` manually works, I'm getting the benchmarks to run (`[00:00:01|% 0| 0/1 files | 0/60 runs | 1/24 configs]: http2/respond-with-fd.js "old", "http2/respond-with-fd.js", "benchmarker='h2load' clients=2 streams=100 requests=100", 1614.34, 0.094232222`)
20:27:44  <addaleax>well i mean that sounds good
20:27:49  <maclover7>I just restarted the jenkins agent, maybe that was the issue
20:28:43  <maclover7>Let me try and rebuild the jenkins build
20:37:46  <maclover7>rvagg mhdawson joaocgreis Can I get job edit permissions in https://ci.nodejs.org/view/Node.js%20benchmark/job/benchmark-node-micro-benchmarks/, want to try something to get http2 benchmarks working

22:31:29  <rvagg>ugh, arm wheezy machines didn't have ccache installed .. I have no idea how that's happened, maybe some weird update took it out, they have semi-stale caches in there so it was at least working recently, fixed now and hopefully they'll speed up but it may take time.

23:51:15  <maclover7>addaleax: from running manually (for whatever it's worth), here are the results: https://transfer.sh/npRiq/outjm.txt
23:56:40  <rvagg>I've resized test-softlayer-ubuntu1604_docker-x64-1 to a 16G 8 CPU machine, so it's similar (a bit bigger actually) to the 3 other docker hosts. I've put 5 x sharedlibs containers and 2 x alpine on it and it's back in action. Should fix the slew of failures overnight from taxing it too hard.
23:57:15  <rvagg>oh, and it also has the Ubuntu 18.04 test container on it that we can tinker with before 18.04 proper comes out
